"Risings"

SCENE 1 - SECTOR THIRTEEN

	A battle rages between the forces of S.P.A.C.E. and the Toad 
Empire. Three frigates -- The Righteous Indignation, The Indefatigable, 
and The Screaming Mimi -- dart about, blasting toad fighters all across 
the stars. Among the three frigates, there appears to be a fourth 
stream of rocket fire attacking the toads.
	Inside a toad fighter carrier, the fleet's CAPTAIN paces back and 
forth on the deck of his carrier. He is very displeased with the events 
of this battle. A voice of one of the toad FIGHTERS comes over the 
comm.

FIGHTER
(over comm)
Sir, we are suffering major losses to our fleet. The mammalian ships' 
shields are just too strong for our cannons. We're just not causing 
enough damage!

CAPTAIN
Don't let up on those mammal scum! Their shields won't last forever! 
Keep bearing down on them and they will eventually fold to our numbers! 
We will win this ...

	The carrier is rocked violently as it is struck by several blasts 
from the opposing frigates.

CAPTAIN
(sudden change in tone)
Retreat! All ships break off and retreat!

	Upon his words, the toad fleet begins to retreat -- in three 
different directions.

	Inside the Righteous, CAPTAIN BUCKY O'HARE is energized.

BUCKY
We've got them on the run now, team!

JENNY
Bucky, it seems that the toads have split into three groups to retreat.

BUCKY
I see.
(over comm)
All ships, each of you take a group of toad fighters and finish them 
off, or run them back into their territory!

DOGSTAR 
(over comm)
On it, my boy.

MIMI
(over comm) 
You got it, Bucky!

	The three frigates break off to chase after each group of toad 
ships.

DEADEYE
(rapidly firing his cannons)
Ha hah, you can't get away from ol' Deadeye, ye swamp-suckin' bug 
munchers!

	The Righteous's cannons take out many more of the fleeing toads.

BUCKY
Nice shootin', Deadeye!

JENNY
Captain, I'm detecting two other toad fighters that are heading off 
alone.

BUCKY
(thinks)
Hmmm ... could be acting as bait to lead us into a larger toad fleet, 
or could be the idiots of the whole fleet who are running to the 
nearest toad base to find shelter.

JENNY
I could use the Croaker and track them to see if they are running to a 
nearby base.

BUCKY
OK, do that, but keep your distance from them just in case it's a trap.

JENNY
Aye, sir.

	FIRST MATE JENNY boards the Toad Croaker and takes off into 
space.

SCENE 2 - SPACE 

	The two toad fighters, carrying four TOADS, travel at the highest 
speed that their double-bubbles can carry them.

TOAD #1
Where are we going?

TOAD #2
There is a planet near here that we will be able to hide on.

TOAD #3
(looking at his radar)
We better hurry, because that thing is still chasing us!

SCENE 3 - NEARBY PLANET

	Jenny flies high in the atmosphere of the planet as she follows 
the ion trail of the two toad fighters. The trail takes her into a city 
on the night side of the planet. However, inside this city, all is 
quiet. No lights, no vehicles, no movement at all.

JENNY
(thinking)
<What is this place? This does seem like a kind of place that the toads 
would have a hidden base.>

	Jenny flies lower down to get a better look at the city, using a 
night-vision scope on the Croaker. She sees that the city is almost 
totally devastated. Only ruins of the city remain.

JENNY
(thinking)
<What happened here? Everything's destroyed ... and appears to have 
been that way for some time.>

	Eventually, Jenny finds the two double bubbles. They sit out in 
the open, with their pilots nowhere around the ships. The surrounding 
area resembles the remains of a space port. She lands the Croaker on 
the other side of the port, among a pile of rubble to use to hide. She 
dismounts from the Croaker and scouts about her immediate area to see 
that there is no one or nothing around her.
	Jenny then sits herself down on the ground, beside the Croaker, 
and performs her "Spirit Walk" spell. Jenny, in her ghost-like form, 
floats over to the toad fighters and looks about. The pilots are gone, 
nowhere to be seen. Returning to her body, Jenny herself walks over to 
the ships.

JENNY
Those toads must have been in a big hurry to just land their ships in 
plain sight like this, unless ... 
(thinks for a moment)
... unless the toads were just running to find a place to hide in this 
abandoned city.

	From the distance in the direction of the center of the city, the 
sound of four screams can be heard. Jenny's attention is grabbed 
instantly as she turns to head in the direction of the screaming.

SCENE 4 - SMALL DARK ALLEY

	The four toad pilots cautiously make their way through the alley, 
appearing to be arguing.

FIGHTER #2
This is stupid! Even if we hide, our ships are in open view! Whatever 
is chasing us will see them, it'll know that we're here, and it'll come 
looking for us!

FIGHTER #1
It wouldn't matter where we put our ships; the ion trails would have 
been traced anyway! Our only choice is to get as far away from the 
ships as we can.

FIGHTER #3
Did any of you even consider trying to fight this thing?

FIGHTER #4
We couldn't hit it, remember? It was too fast for our cannons to lock 
onto.

FIGHTER #1
Quiet, all of you! How are we supposed to hide with everyone yelling at 
each other! It might already know where ...

	The argument is stopped by a massive figure crashing hard, down 
onto the paved ground. The ground buckles and cracks from the impact. 
The toads are frozen in their places as they stare into the eyes of a 
fanged metallic face. DALLION wastes no time as he grabs two toads with 
each set of claws and holds them in place. Each toad now releases a 
scream that causes Dallion's ears to fold back.
	Dallion throws the toads against the walls of the alley, sending 
them crashing down with dust from the walls scattering everywhere. 
Dallion then hunches over, bearing his claws and fangs, and growls 
loudly. He begins to step forward to the toads, who are cowing, then 
stops.
	Dallion's growling is silenced as he stands straight up again. 
His attention is completely off of the four toads as he appears to be 
staring off toward the sky. Seeing their chance, the toads get up and 
run for their lives. Dallion doesn't appear to notice.
	Dallion takes deep breaths as if he is sensing something.

DALLION
(to himself)
It can't be ...
(inhales some more)
... but how can I mistake such a stench?

	Dallion bends down, removes his left gauntlet, and places his 
bare left paw onto the ground. After a moment, a strange black and 
purple aura begins to crawl its way up Dallion's left arm. He jerks his 
paw back up as the aura falls off of his arm and disappears back into 
the ground. He puts his gauntlet back on.

DALLION
(to himself)
This land is cursed ...

	Dallion sniffs the air a few more times, growls a bit, and then 
takes off out of the alley. Just as he is out of the alley, Dallion 
comes to a dead stop.

DALLION
(sadly)
By the mother ...

SCENE 5 - DARK ALLEY 

	The alley is desolate until another figure enters in. Jenny 
slowly makes her way down the alley, observing the entire scene. She 
steps over the broken ground in the middle of the alley, then stops to 
look at the walls. She notices the spots where Dallion had thrown the 
toads against the walls.

JENNY
(thinks)
This dirt and dust has been disturbed recently.

	Jenny looks back to the broken pavement.

JENNY
That happened recently, also. The ground underneath the rubble is still 
moist, not dried out.
(beat)
Some kind of confrontation happened here.

	Jenny looks about some more and finds tracks in the layer of dirt 
on the ground that lead to the other end of the alley. She cautiously 
follows the trail that takes her out side of the alley where she comes 
to a stop.
	The alley leads to one of the main streets of the city. It is a 
broad road with buildings lining both sides. Every building is severely 
damaged, if not on the ground. But debris is not the only thing that 
litters the ground: Corpses also fill the streets.

JENNY
My stars ... this city was destroyed while still inhabited. Is this the 
remains of a city that the toads sacked?
(looking at the dead)
So many civilians ...

	Jenny then hears noises coming from inside a building nearby. She 
moves toward the sounds and enters into the building. It is totally 
dark, but her sharp cat eyes are able to see things in this darkness.
	Jenny is able to make out something that appears to be a person 
hunched over. The person turns to face her, still unnoticeable from the 
darkness.

JENNY
Who are you?

	Jenny's question is responded to with a strange moaning and 
grunting noise. Then, two eyes shine with a dark green glow. Jenny 
backs off a bit. The pair of green eyes is then joined by several other 
pairs, and more moaning is heard. The noise begins to approach Jenny, 
who in turn backs away and out into the streets.
	Back out into the moonlight, Jenny watches the dark doorway as 
the multitude of eyes creep closer to her slowly. When they reach the 
outside, Jenny sees that they are skeletal zombie-like creatures 
produced from the dead of the city.

JENNY
(thinking)
<My stars ... what in the aniverse are they?>

	The zombies continue to stalk toward Jenny as she slowly backs 
away from them, studying them. She is now in the middle of the street. 
Suddenly, she hears a loud moan come from the ground beside her as she 
feels something grasping her left leg. She looks down to see a body on 
the ground come to life and grab her leg.
	Jenny jumps as hard as she can, just barely breaking out of the 
creature's grip. She moves farther away from the group of creatures and 
comes to a stop on the other side of the street. Uneasiness is starting 
to set into her as she sees the number of zombies continuing to grow -- 
all staring straight at her.
	Jenny backs up to one of the buildings when a door is burst open 
from the inside. She turns to see about five more creatures emerging 
from the building. One reaches out and grasps her arm. Jenny responds 
by striking the creature in the chest with a psychic blast from her 
free paw. The creature's chest, which is nothing but ribs, is blown 
apart by her spell. It loosens its grip and falls to the ground.
	Jenny continues to fire blasts at the rest of them, knocking them 
all down. However, to her horror, she notices the first one she struck 
begin to get back to its feet. Its ribs, which she had blown apart, 
begin to reassemble. The other bodies begin to follow in the same 
process, returning to their feet as if she had never hit them.
	Realizing that fighting them is futile, she turns to run, but she 
is stopped by three zombies that were right behind her. Two grab her 
tightly around the arms and waist as a third comes up to her and bites 
her hard in her left bicep.
	Screaming in pain, Jenny releases a burst of psychic energy from 
each spell gem on her body. The three creatures are obliterated by this 
spell. Cradling her left arm, she quickly moves away from the remains 
of the three creatures. Sure enough, the remains begin to reassemble 
back to their original forms.
	Jenny quickly looks about to find a clear path for a retreat. 
Finding one, she takes off running. She doesn't stop until she comes to 
a fire escape structure on one building. She quickly climbs it all the 
way up to the roof. Once on the roof, she runs over to the edge that 
faces the area where she encountered the creatures. She sees that they 
all appear to be walking around aimlessly now. Some fall back to the 
ground.
	Jenny then looks out over each edge to see if there are any more 
around her. There are none. Somewhat relieved, she turns her attention 
to her arm. The creature had bit her between her arm band and her 
shoulder guard. Her suit was torn, and she is bleeding moderately. 
There is also a strange, vile fluid on her wound.
	Suddenly, Jenny begins to feel disorientated. She places a paw on 
her forehead and closes her eyes as her legs begin to wobble. After a 
few moments, she falls to the floor, unconscious.

SCENE 6 - SPACE PORT

	From the skies above the port, the Righteous enters in and lands 
near the rubble that Jenny landed the Croaker behind. Bucky and his 
crew then exit the ship and walk up to the Croaker.

BUCKY
Dammit, Jenny, where are you?

WILLY
What is this place, Bucky?

BUCKY
A once great city until the toads destroyed it.

WILLY
It kind of reminds me of pictures of Hiroshima.

BUCKY
Where?

WILLY
Oh, it's a city on Earth that was destroyed in a war long ago.

BUCKY
(to Deadeye)
Put the Croaker back into the Righteous.

DEADEYE
Aye, Cap'n.

	GUNNER DEADEYE DUCK jumps onto the Croaker, switches the homing 
device off, and then pilots it back into the righteous. He then jumps 
back out to join the others.

BUCKY
All right, Bruiser, you're with me. Deadeye and Willy, you two are 
together. Split up and comb this city to find her. Blinky, stay with 
the Righteous and notify us on the comms if the sensors pick up any 
life form readings other than us or if Jenny returns herself.

BLINKY
Yes, sir, Captain O'Hare.

BUCKY
Let's go.

	The group turns to leave the ship when they all notice about 
twenty to thirty people standing side to side in a line in front of 
them.

DEADEYE
What the blazes?

BUCKY
(calmly)
Weapons ready.

	Bucky and Deadeye both draw their blasters and aim them toward 
the unknown persons.

BUCKY
Identify yourselves!

	There is no response as the group slowly walks up to the crew.

BUCKY
I said to identify yourselves!

	No response still.

BUCKY
Stay where you are!

	They continue to approach.

BUCKY
Stop or we will open fire!

	They do not stop.

BUCKY
Drop 'em!

	Bucky and Deadeye begin to blast away at the crowd. They each 
fall with just one hit. But, they return to their feet just as soon as 
they hit the ground.

DEADEYE
(confused)
Cap'n?

BUCKY
(also confused)
I don't know ... but don't stop firing!

	The creatures close in on the crew.

SCENE 7 - SOUTHERN AREA, CITY 

	Dallion walks through the streets, looking at all of the bodies 
that litter them. From behind the building that he is standing next to, 
the screams of the four toads can be heard once again. Dallion quickly 
makes his way toward the cries.
	Dallion looks around the corner of the building to see the toads 
trapped in a dead end, surrounded by a horde of creatures much like the 
ones that attacked Jenny.

DALLION
(thinking, in disbelief)
<Do my eyes deceive me?>

	Dallion watches as the horde swarms the toads, taking them down, 
clawing, biting, and chewing.

DALLION
(thinking)
<Dead that is risen?>

	The toads' screams are now silenced. Just as they are, some 
members of the horde turn and face Dallion with murder in their glowing 
eyes. Dallion quickly bears his claws.

DALLION
Come on, then. I promise that I won't be so easy.

	The creatures stalk toward Dallion with moaning tinged with rage. 
Once within range, Dallion lashes out his claws, slashing through the 
creatures, sending them down to the ground. With almost every one of 
them put down, Dallion relaxes his stance just a bit ... until the 
defeated ones begin to move again.
	Dallion watches as the remains begin to reassemble themselves and 
stand back up.

DALLION
(thinking)
<There is no denying it now; this is the work of a necromancer. I never 
thought that I would ever come across one, or its spawns, again. But 
how could any necromancer not find comfort in a place such as this?>

	Dallion keeps on sending the creatures to the ground, but they 
always get back up. They do not relent in their attacks on him.

DALLION
(thinking)
<My claws are not enough. Perhaps some other kind of power may work.>

	Dallion retreats from the horde and finds a tree that is planted 
in the sidewalk of the street. With his claws, he removes the 
surrounding concrete, exposing the bare earth. Dallion removes his 
gauntlet again while checking to be sure that the creatures are at a 
safe distance.
	Dallion places his paw onto the dirt and concentrates. The black 
aura returns to his arm. Dallion growls in pain as he shakes his left 
arm about as the black aura falls off again.

DALLION
(thinking)
<Blast it! The land is saturated with evil! I must reach deeper in 
order to find the power I need.>

	Dallion reaches back down again. Again the black aura returns, 
causing him pain. He doesn't pull back, though.

DALLION
(anguish)
Argh ... where is it? I can almost feel it ... argh!

	Through a squinted eye, Dallion sees that the walking corpses are 
almost upon him. Dallion growls harder. The black aura has engulfed his 
entire arm, but at his paw, a shining light starts to glow. The horde 
of creatures is just feet away. The light quickly spreads up Dallion's 
arm, dispelling the black aura. The creatures reach out to grab 
Dallion.
	Dallion jumps back and rolls his arm forward, sending forth a 
burst of energy across the ground. The corpses are blown apart, their 
pieces flying in all directions, scattering all over the place. The 
wave quickly burns out, leaving the results of the blast in Dallion's 
view.
	Dallion stands, panting heavily, watching the remains of the 
corpses to see if they recover. All is quiet. Dallion starts to ease, 
his left arm still glowing with the blue light. There is still no 
movement from the ground. Dallion releases a big breath of air.
	But the moment is shattered as the parts of corpses on the ground 
begin to tremble. They start to slide across the ground, returning to 
their other parts. The horde is back on its feet. Dallion begins to 
back off.

DALLION
(thinking)
<Is there no way of stopping this?>

	There is something different about the horde now. The four toads 
now stand with them, but they seem peculiar. They appear to be horribly 
disfigured, almost mutated. Their skin is of a darker, brownish green, 
sagging and hanging off their bodies. Their eyes are completely black. 
Two of them are missing an eye. Vile, greenish goo drips from their 
mouths as their tongues seem to involuntarily whip around.

DALLION
(thinking)
<Damn, even the toads have risen. I need to back off for now, until I 
can figure this out.>

	Dallion turns and uses his thrusters to propel him onto the 
rooftop of the building beside him. He lands and turns to observe the 
actions of the slow-moving corpses.

DALLION
(thinking)
<These creatures are saturated with the energies of death and chaos, 
whereas a normal being is saturated with life. If forces of destruction 
are no use against them, then maybe the forces of life and healing 
might have a desired effect. Yes, a healing spell dispels death.>
(thinks for a moment)
<But, that's the problem. I haven't yet been able to use any life-
giving spells ...>

	Dallion stares at his glowing left arm for a long time.

DALLION
<I have to try.>

	Dallion sits himself down, holding his left arm in front of him, 
and enters into a trance. After a period of time, the blue aura of his 
arm begins to flicker a bit, slightly brightens, then goes back to the 
normal blue. Dallion squints his eyes tighter together.
	The aura begins to change again, as swirls of other colors can 
now be seen on his arm. The colors cycle through faster and faster 
until it becomes a solid gold aura. Dallion opens his eyes, which are 
filled with astonishment.

DALLION
(thinking)
<Gold, the color of healing ... have I done it?>

	Dallion places his right claws onto his glowing left arm. When he 
pulls them off, all four of his claws glow with the golden aura.

DALLION
(thinking)
<There's only one way to find out ...>

	Dallion gets up and jumps off of the building, back down into the 
street below with the creatures. Each one of the corpses turns to face 
Dallion. Without hesitation, Dallion uses his claws to slash into the 
nearest corpse.
	The creature releases an eerie shriek as it falls to the ground. 
The greenish glow in its eyes finally goes dark as a strange green mist 
seeps out of the body, absorbed into the ground. The remains of the 
body begin to burn away.

DALLION
(aloud)
You're all mine!

	Dallion releases a barrage of slashes on the rest of the 
creatures, each one falling down and burning. Dallion notices that his 
claws' aura grows dimmer with each slash. When the glow is almost gone, 
Dallion recharges them by pulling more of the aura off of his left arm 
as if it were a battery.
	In the middle of his attacks, Dallion's right arm is snared by 
something, preventing him from moving. He turns to see that it is the 
tongue from one of the undead toads. Dallion pulls back, but the toad's 
strength is strangely great.
	With the tongue, the toad is able to throw Dallion off balance 
and even into a wall. The wall cracks when Dallion's back strikes it. 
Shaking the stun off, he looks up to see the toad's tongue coming at 
him again. Dallion raises his claws and slices the tongue in half just 
as it was inches from his face. The tongue bursts into flames, as does 
the toad himself a short time later. Dallion quickly turns and disposes 
of the other toads before they can attack him in the same manner.
	Soon after, Dallion has defeated all of them. Taking deep 
breaths, he looks about to see that nothing else is standing and all of 
the creatures are burning or smoldering. He looks at his left arm to 
see that it is still glowing, but not as brightly as before.

DALLION
(thinking)
<I had better eliminate as many of these creatures as I can while I 
still have energy.>

	After a moment, Dallion turns and walks away.

SCENE 8 - STREETS

	Dallion finds a rather large group of zombies crowded in the 
streets. He wastes no time in slashing them all away with his enhanced 
claws. Once they are all returned to the ground, Dallion continues 
farther up the street.
	After a minute of walking, Dallion is struck by a large blast 
from somewhere to the side. It strikes him in his right side and sends 
him crashing through the wall of a building. Pushing the rubble off of 
him, Dallion slowly gets to his feet and steps back out into the 
street.
	A figure in an alley across the street catches his notice. 
Dallion looks at the figure but cannot recognize it. Using his scanner, 
he is able to pick up a defined form of the person in the shadows.

DALLION
By the mother ...

	Dallion's voice trails off. The figure slowly staggers out into 
the moonlight where it can be recognized. It is Jenny, but somewhat 
disfigured. Her hair is very thin and coarse, her fur is dingy and 
matted, her posture is extremely poor, her armor is dull and rusted, 
and her eyes are solid black with a faint green sparkle.

DALLION
Jenny?

	Jenny sends out another blast that throws Dallion hard against 
another wall, but not through it this time. Dallion regains his 
composure with a little groaning as he stares at Jenny in astonishment.

DALLION
(thinking)
<What in the mother's name is she using against me? What is that 
power?>

	Jenny's spell gems begin to glow brightly.

DALLION
(thinking
<This isn't good. I have to stop her without killing her, but how?>

	Dallion is forced to jump and run out of the way of another blast 
from Jenny.

DALLION
<Maybe I could just touch her with healing energy instead of stabbing 
her with my claws.>

	To his surprise, Dallion is lifted up into the air magically by 
Jenny. With just a thought from her, Dallion is flung through the air 
and is bashed against several buildings before being slammed down hard 
into the ground. His impact creates a small indention in the street. 
Dallion strains to get up but cannot do so.
	Dallion looks up to see Jenny leap into the air and descend down 
toward him. He notices that she has her mouth open and her fangs bared. 
In a quick reaction, Dallion raises his right arm to shield himself 
from her. Jenny comes down on him, biting into his right forearm. Her 
fangs penetrate through his metallic armor.
	Dallion notices the green, venom-like liquid dripping from her 
teeth and running down his bionic arm.

DALLION
(thinking)
<I must not let her bite that venom into my veins, or I will become 
like her.>

	With Jenny still biting into him, Dallion is finally able to get 
to his feet. Using his left arm, he grasps her around her throat. Jenny 
releases her bite on his right arm to bite his left.
	Knowing that his left arm is where she shouldn't bite him, 
Dallion throws Jenny as hard as he can. She hits a brick wall with the 
back of her head and falls down to her knees. Dallion realizes that he 
has just bought himself some time.
	Dallion uses his right paw to muzzle Jenny's mouth, making sure 
that she doesn't have a chance to bite him. He holds her up against the 
wall, palming her face with his bionic arm. He then grips her bare 
throat with his left paw, which is barely glowing now. The glow seems 
to slowly slide off of his arm and into Jenny.
	Jenny frantically slaps and kicks at Dallion to get him off of 
her, but Dallion keeps his grip on her neck. However, Jenny's spell 
Gems begin to glow as she raises her arms to cast a burst of energy on 
him.

DALLION
(growling)
Come on! Work!

	Jenny's gems continue to brighten as she holds her arms straight 
up in the air. She then lowers her arms toward Dallion as her paws 
begin to glow with the energy. Dallion's aura is all but gone now as 
Jenny's paws glow about as bright as her gems, her spell ready to be 
cast.
	Suddenly, the glow fades away. Jenny's gems dim, and her arms 
fall limp to her sides. Dallion then gently sets her body onto the 
ground and steps back away from her. He watches her for several 
moments.
	After a time, the rust on Jenny's armor begins to disappear as it 
shines in the moonlight with its original luster. Her fur softens and 
turns back to a clean, pure white as her hair becomes thick and full 
again. Dallion reaches down with his bare left paw and pulls an eyelid 
open to see that her eye is also back to normal. He also checks her 
pulse and breathing.
	Jenny is alive but is not conscious. Dallion lifts her up, opens 
his thrusters, and heads up to the sky.

SCENE 9 - SPACE PORT

	Bucky and Deadeye continue to blast away at the horde as Bruiser 
is throwing whatever he can find at them. ENGINEER WILLY DUWITT is 
inside the Righteous, using the main cannons against the creatures. 
Even the cannons can't keep the things down, but it at least throws 
them back a few feet.

DEADEYE
We ain't gettin' anywhere with this, Cap'n! How're we supposed to get 
t' Jenny if we can't get past these scalawags!?

BUCKY
We can't give up, Deadeye! I don't want to think about Jenny getting 
into something like this all by herself! But you're right; this isn't 
working!
(louder)
Everyone into the Righteous!

BRUISER
Cap'n, we ain't leavin' Jenny, are we?

BUCKY
Of course not, Bruiser! We just need to get out of this place and find 
a safer spot to set down!

	The three board the ship, and Bucky quickly lifts it off of the 
ground. He pilots the ship at a medium altitude to get a good look at 
the city to find a better place to set down. His concentration is 
broken by Dallion, who flies right up to the main view of the upper 
deck, right in front of Bucky.
	Bucky notices that Dallion has Jenny, unconscious, in his arms. 
After a few seconds of staring in disbelief, Bucky opens the outer 
doors to let Dallion in. As soon as Dallion gets aboard the ship, Bucky 
takes the Righteous to the stars.

SCENE 10 - COCKPIT, THE RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION

	Jenny slowly fades back into consciousness. Her vision changes 
from black to a blurry white. Finally, she can make out Bucky, BRUISER, 
Deadeye, and Willy. 

BUCKY
How do you feel, Jenny?

JENNY
(disoriented)
Uh ... lousy ... what happened ... where am I?

BUCKY
You're fine. We're all on the Righteous, heading for Genus.

JENNY
I don't remember ... how did I get here?

WILLY
Dallion brought you here.

JENNY
He did?

BUCKY
You were unconscious, but he told us that it wasn't serious.

JENNY
How long was I out?

BUCKY
You've been with us for about two hours now.
(beat)
Dallion said that you were bitten by some creature with a venom that 
knocks people out.

JENNY
(coming more awake)
That's right! I was bitten by one of those strange things. I couldn't 
kill them. Did you see any?

DEADEYE
We did indeed, lass! And just like you said, we couldn't stop 'em. We'd 
blast 'em, but they kept gettin' back up!

BUCKY
Dallion told us not to mess with them because they aren't natural 
creatures, or something like that. He told us to totally avoid the area 
until he knows more about the place.

JENNY
Where is Dallion?

BUCKY
He left about twenty minutes ago. Didn't say where he was going. Why?

JENNY
Nothing really ... just wanted to thank him, and ...

BUCKY
(cutting in)
Don't worry, Jenny, he said that you and him were on equal terms now. 
That this is his repayment to you for saving him from the toads.

	The Righteous Indignation flies off into the distance. Behind it, 
Dallion hovers in space with his arms crossed as he watches.
